jj-When you say Dec is strongest month..how about net change? Last year we entered December and exited at relatively flat levels. Since the move in October and November had already taken care of almost all of the upside off the lows (maybe similar to current), December 2001 was an up-down month finishing slightly positive. (15 points) 2000 was a down story for Dec. on a net basis. Dec. for 1998 and 1999 were up (former up 150 pts from 1950 to 2192; latter you know was a once in a lifetime achievement). However, 1997 was a down month slightly on a net basis and 1996 was flat (down actually by a point). 1995 was down by 7 points. 1994 was flat (actually up by a point). 1993 and 1992 saw up moves of 3-4 %. 1991 saw an upmove of around 5 %.
