Hi Oblomov: "Keep them busy" addressed all those discussions about "who-did-it" and "twas-them-not-us" etc. All the arguing allows the government to steal itself out of the cross-hair of the public. >>Extending the retirement age allows them to reduce transfer payments.<< Just by moving it up half a year would significantly lighten up the budget. Etc. Still - the average age of retiring is not 65, it's 60 (! - meaning cca 18% lower monthly check). And people live longer - women for instance live cca 5 years longer and enjoy 20 years of old age pensions on average. RegZ dj
