>>If you want to talk about NVLS, long or short, give a fundamental reason like Cary did

RtS,

Oh, I don't want to talk about Novellus. I don't know anything about it that one can't find in 1 minute of internet browsing.

But also I think what is moving the market these days is beyond the merits of any one company. It is pretty much sentiment and general expectations about the economy.

The reasons of bringing up Nvidia is to say that even a stock that issues a dismal report can go up un-expectantly due to a reversal of sentiment. Which could not be forecast even one hour in advance.

And yes, I very much see the current market as being a tussle between longs and shorts. It seems the shorts gather all their resources, and on the count of 3 sell everything around 10:00 AM. I also have the feeling it is a coordinated effort. And has nothing to do with individual stocks. Just an attempt to panic investors into dumping their holdings. And also, yes, I have no problem in seeing shorters get their just rewards, whether profit or loss. Though I think shorters are generally more smug, and somehow they feel there is some righteousness to their "correctional" selling. As though someone appointed them to be the guardians of fiscal rectitude.

Well, still, I don't want to lose sight of the proposition that the market is mostly a game. So, long or short, good luck to all.

Sarmad

We are just about to hit the lower Bollinger Band on the SOX five day chart at 361.44. Should be good for a bounce?

Then, this chartlink with BB also shows hitting the upper BB.
