Something to think about; The Sneaky future of INTC

This article gives an accureate assessment of the way things are right now.

What is left out is particularly interesting, Tyler Lowrey one of the true semi conductor geniuses of our time, is busy with a new company called Ovonyx. What is so important and unique about this company is that INTC and STM already licensed the right to produce OUM memory a replacement for Flash which can be brought right into the processor itself..

OUM memory requires no additional production equipment, to add it's unique capabilities like multi bit programming of each cell, all one needs is process control changes, and a bit of realestate.

IMO this will come out of the closet in 03, and will provide those useing it economies of performance scale of important dimension.

OUM can replace off chip flash, with on chip multi bit programmable OUM memory that will most certainly improve processor performance once again, lowering cost at the same time.

As one who likes AMD very much, I would hope we get a license and get to work, otherwise INTC is going to left hook us into the next country............something we definately dont need.
