Maybe they are a little sick of the Israeli occupation of the last thirty years or so to be waving white flags and writing songs of peace now, who knows?

Ah yes, those 30 uninterrupted years of occupation. Did Oslo just drop down the memory hole?

I think that people have heard the worlds "illegal military occupation" lots of times, particularly if they ever listen to the BBC or to NPR. Palestinian spokesmen repeat it thousands of times a week.

Only problem is, legally speaking, it is not accurate. The occupation was a result of a defensive war; Resolution 242 does not call for a unilateral withdrawal but a withdrawal in the context of "negotiations" that result in "secure and recognized borders" for all the countries in the region. That was why all the Arabs flat-out rejected Resolution 242 for 20 years! Naturally, they expected that the land should have been preserved in aspic during this period. It is in the nature of the conflict that the Palestinians always demand the deal they could have gotten thirty years ago.

So I didn't hear the BBCCNN&co flashing a Sahid Nobel Price shouting Jeningrad all over the place...?

For sure Goebbels would have handed out the Iron Cross + Diamond Leaves on that one to the British media and Arafat.

On the "systematic murdering and torture of Pals", you may remember that some 7-8 years ago, the Israeli secret service caught two "active" Pals alive, (seen so on TV) and later reported them dead.

The top staff was sent home. (Systematically ?)
The Is gov almost collapsed, if I remember well.
