sap is a piece of crap.

End of story.

I still don't see how Clifton could have been in the play. Even if the guy had cut back inside. I have a problem with the league condoning plays like this when if you get up a head of steam and are charging at a guy near the sideline, how on earth can you stop and not hit the guy the moment he crosses the sidelines? They are asking players to change momentum of their 300 pound selfs in a split second...Yet, sap can blindside a player 20 yards from the action and there is no problem at all with that.

I also have a problem with the cornerbacks getting flags all the time for interference.

And with the sudden death overtime rules.

And....

...enough for now.

:)

Dear Limburger Breath
Is it so cold up their that your brain has frozen.
The cheap shot by Sapp was anything but a good clean hit because the play was over, the interceptor was 1 step, and heading fast for out of bounds as both sapp and clifton could see. Sapp also left his feet to deliver the cheapshot. Legal ... well I guess it was the league said so.
The problem is the replay has been shown so many times the whole world knows it was uncalled for and unsportsman like at best.
One thing that was typical Sapp. He was having his usual uninspiring day on the field No tackles, No assists, No Sacks, No deflected passes and No interceptions.
But he did get to run his Fat mouth.
All Talk, No game and has to resort to dirty play so everyone knows he's their.
You talk about the hit and how it sets the tone and I understand perfectly what your saying. Intimidating an opponent is very important and a big part of the game, but it should be done when both players are engaged not from the blindside like a thief in the night.
If I'm the coach he's history

By the way I bet on the Bucs so if I have any bias I think it would have been in their favor

Gloop ,I don't think you can make judgements from a photograph and compare it to the 3D real world in real time.
I still think during the flow of that play it was obvious that Clifton was slowing down and not able to make a play and Sapp was wrong for the viciousness of the hit because of that.
But,I also think its close enough to give Sapp the benefit of the doubt and just let it go.....after all he has obviously NOT taken shots at Favre many times when he could have just destroyed him......probably out of concern for his own welfare rather than Favre's but he has show discretion many times in fairness to him.

You are right,he has probably done us a favor. This is the ultimate bulletin board material for the next game....the one that really counts. His head better be on a swivel.;-)
