You think we don't have deficits?

Here in lotus land, our new right wing government has lowered taxes for the rich (good news for us stock speculators) with no real plan to make up the budget shortfall.

Can you say deficit? Higher hydro rates? Car insurance rates? Health care? (Incidentally, socialist car insurance rates are GREAT). Help for the municipalities?

It ain't pretty here either.

States in Worst Budget Shape Since WWII

story.news.yahoo.com

It is not just the states, it is also the major cities, in addition to the federal gov't.

What I don't understand is how the Repubs who run on lower taxes and fiscal responsibility are going to handle this, publicly or otherwise.

One thing seems possible however and that is that the Dems will remain inept and fail to capitalize on any of it.
