Of course, the rich would say that this system is unfair. Its unbelievable to me.....you want people making 20k a year to pay the same proportion of taxes as the guy making 250k per year while simultaneously paying all their own expenses including health insurance. I guess your point is that the people making 20K would not be able to afford it, so they wouldn't stand for it. Basically, that's the point. If people knew how expensive the government is, they would revolt, and cut it down to smaller size, one that they could afford. But most people don't know how expensive the government is, since most people are not paying government's bills. So the government keeps growing. First, you give people too little credit for any kind of intellect or knowledge. Then again, you may be right.......after all, they continue to support Bush. Secondly, your niggardly ways suddenly do a disappearing act when it comes to defense........then you are willing to spend like Hitler has landed at Montauk and is moving West. Well, how about this........some of us think that spending on defense is a big waste, mainly needed to satisfy the huge paranoia of certain aspects of our population whereas I and others are glad to have the money spend on environmental issues. If we can indulge your paranoia, then you can indulge our concern with the environment. BTW, do you think America is a great nation? If so, what do you think makes her great? If not, what do you think is wrong with her? ted
