Then you have the thinking left, like Friedman, who realize just how big the problem is, I almost forget that Tom has been left leaning in a previous life. Not only do I always learn something from him, I usually agree with him. it is easy to take Carls viewpoint (which is Buchanans) and say, "We can't stop them, too many of them, the best thing is to retreat to our Borders and appease them." I understand the appeal of this argument but it is doomed from the begining. America is a dynamic country. Cut of it's ability to 'flow' and it will stagnate. I am a Friedmanite - spread the middle class everywhere. Paul
