I dunno, it has a certain flair that just might play. I've read jokes that among the superrich, there is a "you paid for lunch, I'll pay for the Cadillacs" ambiance. Whenever the Saudi royals travel, they take dozens of their women, children, eunuchs and other servants, all with lots of luggage, take up at least one floor of an exclusive hotel, and tip everybody with hundred dollar bills.

So what's a couple of thousand to a Saudi royal?

Mind you, every rich person I've ever known has been really cheap, but I've never known a Saudi royal.

Besides, what else are they going to say? They can't hide the money trail, all they can do is obfuscate about the motive.
