NEVER AT WAR
Why Democracies Will Not Fight One Another

Sounds like an interesting read....

Although I must admit, I didn't realize that the "democratic peace" concept was just a theory, and not a self-evident fact...

I recognized this principle when I was still in high school watching the Falklands war unfold... (a military junta suddenly making the Islands an issue worth going to war over).

Btw, I just did a search for an old professor of mine who was involved in researching democratization and what creates stable democracies. Sadly, he died in 1995 in a horse riding accident....

He was a big fan of Robert Dahl, and the majority of his course involved his reading, VERBATIM, right out of Polyarchy... That was the lecture... his reading Dahl's book to us... An entire semester of monotone recital...

But that said, he was nonetheless, a nice guy...
