I am an Arab-American. I have an Arabic surname. I look Arabic. I know what you are going to say: "Farah, pulling you out of line would be profiling. It's not American to discriminate against people because of their national origin or racial characteristics." Need I remind my fellow Americans that we are at war? I personally would much prefer to see our country use its precious security resources more wisely. Not everyone is a security risk. Common sense needs to be employed if we are to make this country safer. Isn't it preferable to inconvenience me and people who look like me than to turn our entire country into a virtual police state? IMO, more proof of what I believe to be an inherent characteristic of Arabs; logical thought. IC

Profiling is not as safe as one may think. I am from the ME. Look at my green eyes and white skin and you will never guess. I speak better English than some native speakers, and that with an American accent. (Just realized I am a great recruit for Hizbollah or Al-Qaeda. That's scary, heh. I guess a complete lack of belief in god is not appreciated in their organization, though <ggg> ) Not that I have an urge to blow myself up or hijack a plane. Just to show that profiling does not make things safe. They need to install "Total Recall" kind of scanners that show everything metal on your body and things.
