===> "Arafat Deputy: Uprising Was a Mistake. What happened in these two years, as we see it now, is a complete destruction of everything we built," Abbas was quoted as saying. <===

Wrong. Not everything was destroyed. During the uprising, Arafat, his goons, and the leaders of Hamas increased their personal bank accounts by tens of millions of dollars.

Arafat's wife is really living it up in France, while Palestinians suffer from poverty. If the Palestinians had accepted the peace offer from Israel two years ago, they would have had a higher standard of living than most Arabs living in the many Arab dictatorships.

Abba Eban: The Palestinians have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

The fact that Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) is leaking these papers now is an indication that Arafat's sagging popularity is doing some more serious sagging, imo.

This article doesn't mention where Abu Mazen is now. I thought I had read that he moved to Amman after Jersusalem got too hot for him? Arafat was accusing him of disloyalty, and that kind of accusation is followed by shootings in the PLO.
