It would be interesting to see how a portfolio of the 2000 new economy thread picks did in this rally and into 2003. My guess is pretty outstanding outperformance since these were on the crest of breaking out fundamentally and stopped in their tracks with the recession. Usually new companies step in as the new emerging leaders but this time the downturn was too brutal.
