Yeah but...
given the same asphalt and the same speed limits
a 50's car and a 2003 model both still get the same
amount of stuff the same number of miles in the
same amount of time.
The improvements in computers and communications,
however, have allowed increasing amounts of advertising
and junk email and wasted time.
