The Arab League and the U.N. has secured his safety, IF his days of conquest are truly at an end. The weapons inspectors will not be the final judge as to whether Saddam has given up his dreams of conquest. Saddam must prove that for himself. Failure to freely disclose details about the weapons he currently possesses, and the details about his weapons programs will prove that he still desires conquest. If this is not accomplished by the U.N. deadline, there will be a frenzy of ruthless violence loosed upon Saddam and his henchmen that heretofore have not cooperated. The President hates liars, criminals, and especially tyrants that hold NO regard for the future of their people. I genuinely like Arabs and Persians because in my opinion Arabs and Persians are a wonderful mixture of passion and intellect. I also believe that they have much in common with Americans because of this. I firmly believe that the Arab, Persian and Muslim world must be allowed to contribute their wisdom and knowledge to the world. IMO, I would be disloyal and disrespectful if I do not honestly and firmly state my true opinion about what is clearly the greatest evil in the world today, Saddam Hussein. I believe that from Casablanca to Islamabad, there will be a great and magnificent rebirth of the potential that was apparent in the ancient world. However, right in the heart of this ancient world, there is a snake that would prevent this rebirth, because of his personal ambition. I ask, what sane person will invest their money in a people, or a country if there is the possibility of losing everything because of the personal whim of a single ambitious dictator? For many years America has had the military power to force our will upon any country in the middle east, yet we have not done so because of a fundamental respect for ALL people. When Saddam has had the power, he has shown that his goal is to dominate. I ask, who is to be trusted, America that could dominate but does not? Or Saddam who has tried to dominate many times? America’s goal is a very simple one, it is to be welcomed in any country in the middle east as an equal, and also as a beloved member of the family. It is for these reasons that I sound the warning so loudly. IC
