In order to better convey what qualities graduates need to succeed in the world, the Wharton School of Business has redefined evil as possessing enlightened self-interest, and good as economically dysfunctional due to obessive-compulsive guilt-complex..

They are working on new definitions for scam-artist, fraud, con-artist, bilker, snake-oil salesman and confidence man; names that were once deemed to be pejorative appellations. It is noteworthy that few names exist at all for people who posesses qualities nominally deemed of merit by children's morality tales. They criticize children's fairy tales about evil princes, Ghengis Kahn and Ali Baba as inculcating the young with unrealistic expectations of the purity of human endeavour, and urge educators to point out that most tryannical despots died of old age in their sleep while throughout their lives enjoying the fruits of their autocracy and psychopathia with impunity. What have been always desparaged as loathsome tendencies to cruelty and excesses of appetite, should be now be taught as signs of leadership, self preservation, and refined taste for the pleasures of life.

New heroes for the youth are proposed as Vlad the Impaler, Hitler, Ghengis Khan, Attila the Hun and Jack the Ripper. While the latter may give pause, it must be pointed out, the school asserts, that the venerable Ripper achieved all his goals, appeared to enjoy his work and evaded capture for his entire career. All of these show admirable qualities that would suit any executive today, and they would be wise to study them. The techniques of these evil self serving tyrants and criminals evince many of the qualities that serve a businessman today in dealing with employees, rivals, governments and competitors. The ability to act without conscience, destroy all opposition and hide the evidence, guarantees a career that will be long and successful.
