I've never heard of coconut bread pudding. Let me know how it turns out. Our fireplace in the basement is wood burning and the upstairs fireplace is gas and open on both sides. I never think to turn it on. My cousin is an engineer so I asked him about the beam. He did the figuring and said I needed an 8" I beam that weighs 35 pounds per foot. I got one from the local steel dealer for about $300. I don't know why they didn't do that when the house was built.
