I agree with you.

I once read a book called "In The Gravest Extreme" by Masaad Ayoob, who is an expert in the use of deadly force. It was very influential in my opinions about self-protection. His thesis is that you should be prepared, but that if you are called upon to use deadly force in self-defense it will change your life forever. You will feel terrible, it may ruin your life--but you will have a life, you may suffer persecution from the law and others-- as you put it there will be no end to your legal problems. He says people who are itching to get the chance (to use deadly force) are woefully misguided and would do well to abandon their attitudes about it.

It's interesting to see these eco-terrorists being given a free ride. They have been pretty quiet since George Bush got elected, and I hope he deals with them severely if they misbehave.

That's the way I feel. I feel prepared, but I hope and pray that I will never be called upon to defend myself.
