At one time when AOL was riding high in the stock charts, investment newsletter-writers predicted it was going to the moon. They said, "Just wait till AOL gets to the multitudes in Asia!" One newsletter-writer even predicted that the Indians of India and the Chinese etc would go shopping online etc and so one would do very well to have AOL in his/her portfolio. Therefore, they said, the internet would be a very big thing, and AOL just could not stop going up and up.

Six months letter, AOL spiralled down and down and down like there was no bottom and a lot of sheep were left holding the bag.

Yes indeed, the internet is dying. As Harry Schultz once said, it was a fad and, like all fads it would go away. Radio was very exciting when it first came out. So was FM later on. And TV too. But now they are just ho-hum things. And before long, there will be fewer and fewer posts until, like a downward hyperbolic curve, the number of posts tapers off asymtotically.......................

However, to be sure, as long as there is sexy stuff available, there will be voyeurs! and posters!
