LSI has claimed to develop this together with Seagate a couple of months ago (in March to be precise): biz.yahoo.com Hope they fair better with Serial ATA than with their once beloved CDMA business, drive chips are certainly high volume pieces. Its evident that they have competition by now and it remains to be seen whether LSI is up to the promises made. Were there other announcements on Serial ATA from LSI or others in between? BTW message 25455 is in part pretty correct but somewhat harsh, still this stuff around JH is plain silly. Cheers Michael
