Ken, a couple of analyst comments on two of our stocks:

DFIB - from CIBC
DFIB: Reit Sector Outperformer - Announced (11/25) settlement of patent infringement action brought against ZOLL (not rated); under agreement DFIB will receive initial licensing fee and ongoing royalties while both parties will cross license a number of patents. We view settlement as major victory as legal expenses will be returned in upfront payments and will receive an ongoing undisclosed royalty that will beef up margins and discourage ZOLL from price discounting. Will not incur trial expense that had worried some investors and may now go after royalties from MDT (SP) and Philips, which use pre-connected electrodes in their latest AED models. We remain excited about Powerheart CRM technology for the hospital environment and recommend buying stock at current levels.

SURE from GKM

SURE: Reit Buy - Health Canada, a government department responsible for public health issues, announced proposed regulatory changes to expand the list of foods that may be irradiated to include fresh and frozen ground beef, poultry, prepackaged shrimp and mangos. A 90 day public comment period will be followed by a ruling from Ottawa. In our opinion, the processing revenue opportunity of $140 million annually, or a market potential for $500 million of system sales, is very significant. We are not revising our forecasts due to timing and regulatory risk. Separately, SURE received a new patent to cover enhancements that should increase system throughput.
