If Israel stopped retaliating, and stopped trying to hunt down terrorists, it would not stop the terrorists from continuing their attacks. No matter what Israel does, they will still be attacked by terrorists. If the terrorists would stop their acts of barbarity right now, all violence would stop. If Israel stops defending itself, the violence from the Arab terrorists would just get worse. Cycle of violence? A stupid phrase that means nothing.

Anyway, on our side of the barricades we ordinarily consider those guys very bad and not innocent at all… we call them many different names, but “innocent” is not one of them. Re-reading, I can see that you may have meant the Palestinians, and not the terrorists to be innocent… that’s possible… but still, the statement comes off sounding strange.
