You want an atheist to believe in god?....sounds oxymoronic. And whose god would you have them believe in?

If they want to be scouts, then since belief in god is a requirement of being a scout, the atheists should believe in a god that is acceptable to the scouts. Else, they should stop their friggin' whining. They have no right to be in the scouts on their own ungodly terms.

And just why should they believe in god?

They don't have to if they don't wish to. But if they wish to be scouts, then they have to. In this case they should believe in a god because it is a requirement of the scouts. If they can't bring themselves to believe in a god, then they can't bring themselves to be valid scouts. Simple as that.

Where you a Scout? Did you get taught about god from your Scout leader?

I was not a scout because I was an atheist during my youth. Fortunately I grew wise with age. I have now three Eagle Scouts as sons, with a fourth, fifth and sixth on the way. They were all indeed taught about God from their leaders, not verbally, but via a reverential dedication of life to God. That is a critical part of being a scout, and it is an area in which atheists are by nature defective.
