Soros, I agree with most of that. Strange thing is, as a moderate liberal, I still concur with many of the common sense notions that some of the true conservatives state on these boards. Lots of liberals believe in hard work too, just not the kind that ensures they get wealthy by screwing others. Then I read other right wingers (usually the neocon corporate corruption apologists - check out the "Pres. GW Bush" thread if you want a few laughs reading those self-important clowns) defending everything their party does, while bashing so called "liberals" as morally corrupt. A sick joke when coming from the coddlers and feeders of Kenny Lay, John Poindexter, and the Carlyle gang, among countless others. Why should any one group get the monopoly on deciding what morally corrupt means ? Not that simple of an answer. The true lefty left liberals are often in their own world too, but since they have few adherents and no real political power right now, it doesn't really matter. They just become an exaggerated, stereo-typed convenient whipping boy. And your basic apolitical, unaware average American who fits into your portrait - I'm not sure they even know what any of the definitions of moral compass mean. Not entertaining enough for them to ponder. Just waiting around for someone to blame it on when things go wrong.
