But never mistake our prosperity for sloth. The zeal with which we peddle Big Macs can be a dreadful thing when turned to the bloody business of war. Nice way for the author to end that essay... Because war is business... We didn't win WWII so much through better equipment, but because we had more of it, and the soldiers deployed to fight with it were far more adaptable than their average counterpart... Reminds me of the old quote from a captured Nazi officer during WWII.. "The reason the Americans do so well in war is because war is chaos and the Americans practice chaos on a daily basis"... Hawk
