The basis of the liberal contention is that we can't afford it because we are running budget deficits again. WE CAN'T AFFORD NATIONAL DEFENSE???!!! This is what it has come to. We can't afford the most important single function of government, but we afford to throw money at every other conceivable program. We are not talking national defense.....we're talking about making war. We can afford national defense.....we can't afford starting multiple wars to satisfy the whim of a president. ted
