We know how they treat most of their foreign workers -- beatings, rapes, virtual slavery. What makes us think that the Saudi royals think any more highly of us, the generic Boobus Americanus? Someone posted yesterday that the Saudis will not accept an ambassador who speaks Arabic. I can't think of a clearer sign of the contempt they actually feel for us. 1) They don't want the Ambassador to know what they're really saying; 2) they think we must be stupid. It's similar to the contempt Arafat shows for the Jews -- he says one thing in Arabic, another thing in (what language? English? Surely he doesn't speak Hebrew) -- and assumes nobody will know the difference. They think we're chumps. Hey, you know what? I think we're chumps, too. This whole relationship blows. Don't forget, I know Americans who have been guest workers in Saudi Arabia. They were treated only marginally better than Philippinos or Pakistanis. No beatings, but otherwise treated like dirt. I want the Wahhabi mosques OUT, at best, or at least have their tax free status ended. What's the latest on the Saudi "visa express"? I hope that's done and over with, as well. Edit: Saudi visa express said to be ended in July, 2002, due to complaints from congressmen. Write your congressmen, complain about the Wahhabi mosques teaching that Jews and Christians are descended from pigs and monkeys and deserve to die, right here in the good old USA, tax free.
