The cats are left over from cats Hemmingway had.

For years they kept hauling in fill until Key West had doubled in size. It's so crowded that they have to tear something down if they want to build something new.

In the 60's we went down to Islamerada which is a little closer to the mainland. There were probably 10 people who lived on that key then. Now the population is close to 250,000.
