sure, and thats entirely possible. remember - I never said/implied that there wont be a cover-up. I merely said if Henry K does not see light, but just heat, he aint talking. Someone for some purpose might well choose not to show them the light.....[end conspiratorial thoughts]

Well, if it is not dealt with in some fashion, it will give credence to the "cover up" conspiracy crackpots....

What I'm curious about is that the 18 month deadline will place it smack dab in the middle of the next presidential election..

And I wonder if it's going to be used for building a case to deal with Saudi Arabia, after we've dealt with Iraq.

Btw, I hope that I'm not being perceived as some reactionary hawk.. I've just resigned myself to the fact that unless there is dramatic economic and political change in the region, the militancy will only grow worse and the moderates will lose all hope of being able to counter their anti-western arguments. I believe that waiting only will make the pain worse (and more bloody) later on...

You see.. Bin Laden had part of it right.. The Saudi regime's corruption has reached the point where they are now more of a liability than an asset.

They are no longer a stabilizing element in the region because their militants have grown too powerful.

They don't have the oil wealth they once had..

They are in debt up to their butts.

And their population is quickly expanding beyond their ability to provide them jobs.

Look at the following link and view the graph to be found 1/2 way down named "Saudi Youth Bulge":
