PARIS & EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2002-- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced that Bureau Veritas, the leading international consulting group specialising in conformity assessment, consulting, training and outsourcing, has signed a three-year contract to migrate their network to Infonet's global MPLS-enabled IP VPN with Classes of Service (CoS). Bureau Veritas is drawing upon Infonet's patent-pending Network Application Program (NAP) methodology to determine the appropriate CoS to operate throughout the network. The IP MPLS network will connect 45 sites throughout Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. Bureau Veritas' secondary sites will be connected via Infonet's Internet VPN on-net and off net services.

Throughout its 550 offices and laboratories worldwide, Bureau Veritas provides an extensive range of technical services and solutions in 140 countries. With 13,000 employees, the company serves more than 200,000 customers from local companies to major multinational corporations. To support its global growth and communications requirements, including the support of enterprise applications from JD Edwards, Domino and Lotus Notes, as well as internal legacy systems running on the network, Bureau Veritas decided to refine its network to become more cost-effective, without compromising service quality.

Infonet was selected to install classes of service not only at entry and exit points, but throughout the network, thus guaranteeing the optimum quality of service between all principal sites.

The combined services offered by Infonet resulted in a transparent and seamless global network for Bureau Veritas. Infonet is the only provider to offer clients qualitative and quantitative metrics to determine which Class of Service features to implement. NAP results provide detailed insights into the effects the client's mixture of application systems has on the user's experience and impact on the network. Infonet then applies the results of a client-specific NAP engagement against the designs of the hundreds of other VPNs deployed supporting similar complements of enterprise applications to determine the optimal recommendation.

"We were looking for a partner who can reduce our costs while improving quality and our network capacity. Migrating to IP VPN has allowed us to double the capacity of our network and reduce costs by 25%. In addition to Infonet's solution portfolio and expertise, we have been very impressed by their commitment and strong global project management capabilities throughout the implementation," said Francois Aubry, Director of IT Services at Bureau Veritas.

"We are very pleased to provide Bureau Veritas with our newest service offering, IP VPN Secure. This is a service specifically designed for multinationals, like Bureau Veritas, who expect the highest security levels when executing on their core business objectives. Nothing pleases Infonet more than to know the initial results were successful, as we look forward to continuing to cultivate a long-lasting joint relationship," said Alain Morgant, General Manager of Infonet France.
