"Almost all traders go broke unless they quit while they are ahead"

I think you are very likely correct. What is the lesson? Don't trade?

Almost all human beings die broke, or pretty close. Maybe we should all just give up any kind of financial ambition, that would seem to be the logical, if extreme, extrapolation of your argument.

I follow a plan whereby I have long term investments, such as the UK real estate I recently sold after holding typically for 4 to 7 yrs. Now hold real estate in Greece which is a long term investment.

My medium term investments are short Nasdaq futures. That has served me very well over the last year or so.

My short term investment is trading. It does OK. Some people tell me it is impossible to predict, and while it is impossible to predict with 100% accuracy, I just let them believe that and put on a suit and drive to work mon - fri while I enjoy my freedom.

I apologize for the OT posts. I hit the send button on that first post before I realized I was responding to a post on a thread dedicated to TA<<<

I don't think any of your posts here were off topic, most of them were thought provoking, and brought this thread to the top of the hotlist.

>>> Like I said, the only important question to ask is are we in a bull or a bear? It's not simple to answer that question although it seems like it would be. <<<<<

that is indeed the question, and nobody knows, don wollanchuk doesn't know, bob prechter doesn't know, but they have to tell their subscribers something, and something fantastic to get them to pony up the money -g-

have we seen the a it/lt nadir in bearish sentiment, the scandals are all out there, at the top they thought CEO's, market analysts, and fund managers were GOD's, now they want Martha Stewart to serve up jailhouse chili -g-

The 200 dma of the cboe p/c ratio has started turning up in the last 2 weeks, it also started doing that while we were topping last january.

i don't know if it's a bear market or a bull market do you?
