Fred,

All treatments for MS are totally insufficient - Avonex included. Antegren appears to be a step in the right direction - but still insufficient.

About 8 years ago there was a new treatment for ulcers based on the discovery that a certain bacteria was responsible. Some heart ailments and cancers have been linked to or highly correlated with infections. People have assumed that MS is another disease with some similar cause. Consider that within 20 degrees of the equator, MS is extremely rare, while in colder climes it occurs regularly. Some people have theorized that gamma interferon is too prolific in MS sufferers and that taking beta causes the body to flush all interferons out thereby reducing gamma levels. No one has a clue yet.

Avonex is safe for a few years and Antegren will be safe for years, too. Unfortunately.
