They're afraid of oil going so low that it ruins their economy like it nearly did before. We've probably already assured them that we won't let it go that low or at least they'll get economic help if it does. Russia has thrown its lot with the west for better or worse. Sure it will still try to keep some alliances if they're to Russia's advantage. Iraq is one of them. However, Russia will ultimately side with the west. Right now it is politically impossible to openly admit these things. Both Russia and the USA would obviously deny that any of these 'pacts' were made. China hates us but is too scared of us to do anything but grumble, i think. i see conspiracies everywhere.. :)
