Yes, unfortunately, I think you're right. LU was dropping its shorts for so long, even prior to the bubble burst, that it seemed to become part of their business model. However, you can only go so far on price cutting. Now it appears they will be paying the price.

Bankruptcy looms larger for LU now than NT. IMO they need to further reduce their break even point, possibly to $2.0b, to avoid a cash crunch in 2003, based on their recent numbers (rev decline + margins).
