The bottom line is that the only way to 'not pay' QCOM royalties on CDMA is to continue the WCDMA delay for another 15 years (which seems likely). Why debate it in a message board when it is no longer debated in a court of law?

From a legal perspective, nobody (not even NOK) debates the QCOM grasp on all core CDMA patents, including those relevant to WCDMA. The media and propaganda front, however, is an entirely different story.

The argument needs to shift from IPR and time to 3G chipsets and QCOM market share. This is a more relevant topic to QCOM's future earnings.
