You could have made that more simple a question. I believe your question evolves to ethics and religion can be set aside. Whatever the belief the question is simply how one develops core values. We can see this demonstrated in anthropological studies of lower primates. Sociological studies of man are not much more complex, with the exception of violence breaking the thread less frequently in man.
