Hi LindyBill; I think it would be great if the Israelis went after Al Qaeda. That is probably the best thing they could do for the US.

This story is a followup to what Debka reported today. If the Israelis are going to treat Mombasa like the 72 Munich attack and go after Al Q world wide, it changes the landscape. We will hear complaints that having the Israelis openly on our side getting Al Q will piss off the Arabs, but I think we are past worrying about what the "Street" thinks.

An interesting aside to that question is whether AQ is also working with the Palestinians insider Israel/Pal. DM Mofaz says they have tried to infiltrate, but have been foiled; debka thinks they tried and succeeded. Certainly Hamas, who now clearly has the upper hand in Gaza, and AQ are ideological soulmates. Ditto for Hizbullah; it's clear that AQ has control in Ein Hilweh camp in Southern Lebanon.
