Ted Re...1947 was a very good year.......lots of meaningful events. However, the real action was in 1948 when Israel became independent.<

While the military action heated up in 1948, the votes on the partitioning of the mandate, and whether Palestine was offered statehood happened in 1947. Your contention that Palestine was never offered statehood doesn't hold up. You tried to explain that awasy by saying that the deal wasn't fair. Fair or not, the Palestinians were offered statehood in 1947 in the partition plan offered by Britian.

May, I count 30 references to the Zionist Armies or ethnic cleansing......I marked them with double ** [see below]. Please note that the year was less than 6 months old.

And up to that time in 1948, I see 8 references to the arab side fighting or arming. What is the point? This discussion started with your contention Palestine was never offered statehood. Now you are drifting into the battles which occured at the time of the British relinquishing conrol. I never said the Zionists were angels. By the same token, neither were the Palestinians and their arab neighbors. It is interesting that you cut the datelines off on May 13, especially when the most of the rest of the yrs. datelines concern the invasions of Palestines allies into the war.
