In their conflict, the Cath. and the Prots. are motivated by their religious beliefs. Do their religions not provide them with rewards for pursuing this conflict? I'm sure someone else here could answer this better than me; however, I think it fair to say that neither side had convinced its young that death in a suicide bombing would lead to martyrdom and paradise. I see. So you are saying blowing someone up is okay so long as you don't believe in martyrdom or paradise is the reward? Interesting distinction. ted
