We are still controlled by the Central banks....A big event is needed, one that ends the derivative fiasco, that has been going on too long....Could it be the U.S. attack on Iraq, could it be a U.S. dollar that tanks, could it be disruptions in oil supplies, could it be a spectacular event in U.S......One of the above events is going to happen, sooner rather than later...I'll stick in cash,CDE, and AIRN until then.....

So you are a TA-focused trader relying on speculative cataclysmic fundamental events while all your TA views are telling you that precious metals aren't following the expected fundamental script.

What's wrong with this picture? Is it better to play what you think SHOULD happen eventually instead of what you see unfolding before you? Why didn't JPM implode at 16 as projected? What if the derivative bomb has no fuse?

None of the projected events HAS to happen...it's just another bet in the casino.

(From a curious lurker - curious that a passionate FA theory has overridden your TA judgment)

AIRN down to 1.01 after news release. Hard to explain as the release was positive.

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2002--Airspan Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:AIRN), a leading worldwide provider of fixed broadband wireless networks, reports that the integration of the recently acquired WipLL product division from Marconi is progressing on schedule.

Since acquiring the division in early October, Airspan has completed the transfer of all major customers and contracts to its operations. The company has secured new business in several major markets, delivering product in excess of $3 million to both existing and new customers, in line with its expectations for this product when it made the acquisition. Under Airspan's ownership, the WipLL product is developing significant new traction in the US market as the company begins to sign up new distribution channels and customers.

"Airspan has benefited to date from this acquisition in terms of scale and addressable market, and is well poised to see continued growth from this set of products and applications," says Eric Stonestrom, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We have found a real receptivity to the product family in the worldwide market as customers and equipment distributors recognize the superior capabilities of the product to address the final mile bottleneck for Broadband services. We have established a strong rapport with existing international WipLL customers, and we have signed deals with several new international customers as well. We are initiating trials now with five operators and distributors in the USA, and we are receiving very positive indications from the US market in terms of the price/performance fit of our products. Demand for broadband data connectivity in the USA grows stronger every day, and WipLL is a very cost-effective product for operators and ISPs to equip the last mile for broadband to meet the demand."

WipLL is important for Airspan because it allows the company to provide economical data transmission infrastructure to operators and ISPs to narrow the gap between the very high number of PC-equipped households and the very low number of broadband-enabled households. The discrepancy between these two is a severe limiting factor in the growth rates of online services, and regulators and governments in both developed and developing economies are making a higher speed final mile a top priority. This is especially important as video compression techniques evolve and the array of services available to end users increases from simple web browsing to full-scale entertainment delivery, which requires connection in excess of dial up modem speeds.
