There are many principle characters in the Bible some of whom did encourage violence. Again, you seem to be wandering aimlessly through the facts. Hardly.Christ, of course, didn't appear in the "Bible" (Old Testament) at all -- which is where most of the violence was. You say I pointed out "inappropriately" that Christ didn't encourage violence -- are you saying he DID? Not all all. However, I was talking about a religion and not one of the principle players in the religion. Portions of the Bible do espouse violence and Christians have committed violence in the name of Christianity. The fact that Christ did not espouse violence does not change the fact that Christianity has been a violent religion from time to time, and therefore, I see little difference between Islam and Christianity. Your diversion to Christ was just that, a diversion, and therefore, inappropriate. I argue there is no difference between the two religions when it comes to this issue. Well, once again, you seem to ignore the facts in favor of your own, underinformed opinion. So what else is new? Do you really believe what you just said.........because it doesn't make a bit of sense? To suggest that modern day Christianity supports violence on a level with that of modern day Islam reflects your ignorance of the subject, which is worse than mine, and mine is pretty damned bad. He writes this as the violence in N. Ireland goes on year after year. Not more than two weeks ago, Nigerian Christians fought with Nigerian Muslims, killing more than a couple hundred. Christian Serbs tortured, raped and murdered Kosovan Muslims not more than 5 years ago. Twenty years ago, Lebanese Christians raped and killed thousands of Muslim Palestinian refugees. Violence and intolerance are alive and well in the Christian religion. What reaches you? Its clearly not the facts. ted
