Al, <They make no speeches, do not pass judgment, don't take political positions, don't actively influence elections, don't call other human beings evil and immoral, don't suggest that gays are to be blamed for the WTC attack, etc...>

Perhaps those who do all that would be wise to follow the silent witness of a manger in a square.

I'm not saying Falwell is following good wisdom in his public statements. Far from it. I am saying, however, that his ideals are no more imposing than the liberal editorials coming out of the Washington Post.

If only Osama bin Laden were that benign, and yet some still want to lump Falwell in the same boat as bin Laden.
