Yes Ted, details do count and I have learnt a bit since then, which was in the early 70's. I did have a few more good ideas and about 50% of them never made me a dime, but some did make others very rich.

I finally did get one idea in the late 80's when I had the experience to make sure I got some of the money rather than somebody else and I did retire on it but at the age of 54 rather than the original 35.

Now I simply pass on any good ideas; it's rather too much like hard work to get anything good going nowadays. I think it is easier than it was, but then I now know more of the pitfalls to avoid than I did when I was younger...

That's why I don't begrudge the founders of FSTW getting some money out. They obviously had the vision, worked hard and took the risks with their personal assets and regardless of how sure anyone is of what they have built, they deserve the security of having some money in the bank and a provision for their own futures.

It's often a good thing as the founders move on or reduce their influence. If the basis of the business is sound, new, younger, hungry guys get aboard and if given the right direction they can then take the business to the next level.
