DB:
Have been curious whether any diverse portfolio could get through the year without having the value go down enough to get worrysome.
I compared about 50 stocks like ko,bac, lmt, noc, epic, csco, intc, msft, bg, edo, au, etc and selected the ones that that dropped the least during about three NAS tankings and that also performed well during upticks.
It appears the best one can do on average is break even for the first six months of 2002 so there could be some suffering but not intolerable with a little faith. Still it does temp one to try trading while swimming in place day after day and I am seeking some way to get away from that ASAP.
This list,in my order of preference, includes Tsco, Dell, Taro, Ally, Igt, Ber, and Qcom .Perhaps Dell should be #1 as it is easiest to hold.
( I tried to put BRK.a on here for comparison but it would not accept it so will go over to Yahoo later and see how it compares)
