my point was that shows like American Beauty (and Married With Children) have a lot of truth to them. many american families at least go through periods of dysfunctionality, the parents barely tolerate on each other, cheat on each other, the kids are rebellious, etc. why do you think the divorce rate is 50%? (and in fact, it actually is much higher than that but the parents stay married, living together more as roomates and guardians "for the sake of the children.") and since those stories were told in a less threatening way than rap, the stories were heard by more people. also, since the media industry is predominantly run by people who are jewish (i do agree with you), sure they produce everything and out of everything they produced they picked American Beauty as the best for that year. but that is not irrelevant to this discussion anyway. we are far off topic for the "Amazon.com" thread.... does that matter?
