I have been thinking about Prechter’s scenario for the past 4 years… Well, hopefully he is wrong, for if he isn’t, we are in a “correction” which will span decades.

If the big negative scenario unfolds, we would be lucky to live through it the way Japan did, but this will not happen. Japan has a disciplined homogenous population, it is an island, and, very importantly, their hard times were cushioned by prosperity elsewhere. We wouldn’t have it so – relatively – well.

Think about the world around us – after only 2-3 years of a major bear… Wars, 9/11, escalation of hostilities, etc. etc. Give it another 5-10 years, and we will not be happy campers… (trying for an understatement of the year award).
