By DAVE SPADARO December 6, 2002 Quarterback Koy Detmer has been doing more and more every day this week in practice. On Friday, he threw during individual drills and warmups, and while there's still no exact timetable for his return to the starting lineup with Donovan McNabb out, Detmer made the trip to Seattle and could be the emergency quarterback on Sunday. "He did a nice job in individual drills and warm-up. He continues to improve," said head coach Andy Reid, who also said that McNabb made the trip Friday to Houston for a second examination on his fractured right ankle. “He’s in a brace so he only has limited amount of extension. It’s a matter of him, number one, getting used to throwing the ball and making sure he’s strong enough to where he doesn’t hurt himself if he lands on it again.” For his part, Detmer was encouraged about the practice. "Basically all I did was a little bit of warming up. Nothing real strenuous, basically just to loosen up," said Detmer. "I still need to do everything I need to do, from getting the quarterback/center exchange to handoffs to being accurate throwing the ball." Detmer said he hopes to do some full-speed work in practice next week. "I'm encouraged," he said. "It's been getting better every day. It's been coming along well. I just have to keep taking steps forward." Asked about his timetable to return, Detmer said, "I haven't set a target date; nor have they . It's just got to be right and it's got to be ready to go so that I can be ready to perform out there and not just go through the motions." The Eagles did not have any further information available on McNabb's trip to Houston on Friday.
