I'm a little more optimistic about the Democrat party:

They will have their left wing "Goldwater" in 2004, and that-as it has always done in our two-party system-will clear the ideological air. A new Democrat party, with it's own opposing views, but committed to being pro-America and pro-economic growth (i.e., solving their 2 fatal weaknesses) will re-emerge as early as 2008. The presidential candidate for 2008 is likely to be someone we've never heard of today, since the Dem's MAJOR weakness is lack of potential leaders of the first order. But what fades away is the archaic 20th Century Marxist/Leninist anti-American left. They have become politically radioactive since 91101, and are only just starting to realize it.

Bottom line: We'll have a Democratic party for ANOTHER 200 years, but a vastly REFORMED one...
