Yes, they were criminals after they committed the murders but before that, they were part of the Religious Right

This is not true. They were NOT part of the "Religious Right" as we know it -- Falwell, et.al.

You don't know that.

I DO know that; I don't think ANYONE is suggesting there isn't widespread support amongst the Islamic community for these activities. The Saudis clearly support it; Iraq clearly supports it; the Palestinians clearly support it; Iran clearly supports it.

Ted, <Many Palestinians are opposed to the suicide bombings and are fearful their children will be persuaded to become a martyr.>

This I will agree with you.

<But I have yet to see numbers for either side. Have you?>

Does it matter? At least here, you can criticize, denounce, and even vilify the so-called "Religious Right" without fear of retribution. I'll bet Arabs who hate Hamas don't feel that sort of freedom. In my view, it's kind of like the Mafia.

And that's where your attempt to relate extremist Muslims with the "Religious Right" falls short.

Ted,

Re: "Many Palestinians are opposed to the suicide bombings and are fearful their

My Son the Mass Murderer

"The terrorist was 22-year old Na'el Abu Hilayel of Bethlehem, who blew
himself up on a bus in Jerusalem on November 21. A member of Hamas, he
murdered 11 and wounded 48. Among his victims were Kira Perlman and her eight-year
old grandson, Ilan.

Abu Hilayel’s father remarked, "I thanked God when I heard that my son had died
in an operation for the sake of God and the homeland." "Of course I'm proud of him
and all the martyrs," his mother said.

It’s not Abu Hilayel’s death alone that makes his parents’ pride obscene. Many sons
died in the struggle against fascism, after all, and their parents justly glorified them.
"

Make It So,
